Balzola executed the civil engineering works, the laying of the double track and the erection of the posts for the overhead power lines on the 2,183 m. of the Lakua branch, between Ibaiondo and América Square. The tramway runs along Landaverde and Duque Wellington streets and Euskalerría Boulevard, in the Lakua district, and has six stops.
The work consisted of preparing the six-metre-wide tramway platform for a double line; doing town planning work on the platform and adjacent areas; laying the trancks; and erecting the posts for the overhead power lines.
Two types of track were laid:
The stops are of two types: with a single platform or central platform. They are designed with people with reduced mobility in mind. They have a shelter on each platform with an integral technical block, with the ticket and travel pass vending machine, the device that cancels tickets and travel passes, and other elements necessary for the running of the line.
