Located on a 46,000 m2.  site, the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum, with its 2,000 m2. of total surface area, is part of the collection of actions with the intention of achieving new roads for expansion and development in view of the progressive disappearance of a large part of the industrial activity.
Frank O Ghery, internationally acknowledged architect and winner of the tender for the construction of the Museum designed this singular building with aspiration to become a symbol, taking into account its location and the former industrial use of the site where it is located.
The result is a brilliant combination of shapes made of stone, titanium and glass.  An approximation to the real magnitude of this work can be obtained with the following summary of figures:

Facade made of Titanium:
-Secondary structure: 24,000 m2.
-Tertiary structure: 24,000 m2.
-Secondary and tertiary structure sections: 120,000 metres.
-Titanium panels: 38,000 units.

Stone facade:
-Stone facing in amber coloured limestone: 10,000 m2.
-Stone facing made with numerical control:3,000 m2.

Glazed façades:
