Description

The main objective of the tunnelling construction project consists in eliminating the urban planning barrier created by the current route of the railway on the ground level through the municipal area of Durango and frees up land taken up by the installations associated with the line’s operation.
Both ends of the central platform have emergency stairs, called NE-01 and NE-03. The NE-01 stairs are stainless steel stairs which allow access from the platform to the shopping gallery on level +108. The access to the outside area would be via a concrete staircase which goes from the floor to level +108 to the outside. The NE-03 stairs are also stainless steel stairs which allow access from the platform to the floor on level +104. The access to the outside area would be via staircase NE-05 which goes from the floor to level +108 to the outside.

The station has two entrances from outside. The north access allows for direct access from the station’s lobby to Sasikoa street via a concrete staircase. The east access allows for access from the station’s lobby to the shopping gallery on level +108 and from there to the outside. For this access a fixed concrete staircase is planned and two escalators for each stretch. For the execution of said staircase and to cover the track area up to the entry to the tunnel laid in the mine, a floor has to be set on level +108 in the area between the mezzanine and the entrance to the tunnel. It includes the definition of the east wall necessary for the construction of the upper stretch of the NE-04 staircase. This wall is aligned with staircase NE-04 and has a slope of 22º over the vertical.
Also planned is the execution of part of the floors on level +108 and +113.60 on both sides of the station’s walls and to the south of the planned underground car park.

The platform area to the west of the mezzanine between the station’s walls is covered by a skylight.

Apart from that described above some other singular works need to be performed which are necessary in order for the correct functioning of the station:

-Emergency ventilation at kilometric point 1+521.55.
-Emergency ventilation and EBA at kilometric point 1+629.48.
-Pumping well at kilometric points 1+514.20 and 1+629.48.
